Accutech Films Purchase their First 7-layer Line
(Gloucester Engineering Co. Inc., Gloucester, MA, September 26, 2008) Gloucester Engineering Co, Inc. is pleased to announce the company has recently installed a 7-layer line at Accutech Films of Coldwater Ohio. Accutech, since it commenced operations over 10 years ago, has built a very strong reputation as a high-quality multi layer films producer. The 7-layer line adds to Accutech’s state of the art coextrusion and specialty film production capability and increases the production lines to 15. “Gloucester Engineering has been a critical partner in our success over the years, our relationship runs deep,” said Nick Ruchty, President of Accutech Films. “The quality equipment and the service team that backs it make our decision to purchase machinery from Gloucester an easy one. Gloucester understands how essential responsiveness is in our high value added end of the market. Apart from the proven excellence and reliability of its machinery and technology, Gloucester’s process improvement team offers solutions that have allowed us to grow and excel in delivering world class specialty films to our varied customers in food and beverage, automotive, agricultural, advertising, medical and industrial market segments. At Accutech we live by the ideals of engineering, creativity and performance. Gloucester is comfortable in meeting the many unique standards of excellence we put before them and thus we have forged a continuing relationship.”
Satisfying Accutech’s desire for the highest degree of
flexibility from a blown film line, the 64” wide high barrier film line has two
50mm x 30:1 and five 40mm x 30:1 extruders that surround a
12” diameter 7-Layer Optiflow low profile die with encapsulated feed port
technology. An innovative extruder extraction system allows screw removal with
the die in place. Gloucester’s completely integrated control system manages
everything from layer ratios to Automatic Profile Control, cage and collapser
adjustments, and web tension control. A combination composite roller / nylon
covered slat collapser with deep gusset triboards adds to the overall
versatility of the line by running soft films to stiff films, trimless sheeting
to gusseted tubing through the Traversanip oscillating haul-off. A conditioning
bath for asymmetric nylon films, Pillar treater, and space saving dual turret
winder for 30” diameter reels round out the exceptionally versatile capabilities
of this line.
Accutech’s state-of-the-art and ever expanding Ohio complex ships its products
to clients in North America, Europe and Africa. Accutech expects to double in
size within five years. Accutech’s parent company, Clondalkin, the international
specialty packaging group, with extensive film and laminate production
operations amongst its 40 companies in ten countries and annual sales in excess
of $1 billion, is backing these ambitious growth plans. In the last 12 months,
Clondalkin has invested over $200 million in developing its packaging
businesses. With this kind of support and technology reach, the Accutech strong
development story is set to continue at a fast pace.
